Foley & Lardner LLP Partner Natasha Allen is quoted in the Engadget article, “ChatGPT is suddenly everywhere. Are we ready?,” offering insight into the rise of OpenAI’s automated text generation system ChatGPT.
Allen said part of ChatGPT’s success is due to solid marketing strategies, however, “the other part is just how easy it is to use it. You know, the average person can just plug in some words and there you go.”
“People who previously hadn’t been interest in AI, didn’t really care what it was” are now beginning to take notice, she explained. Its ease of use makes ChatGPT “something that’s enticing and interesting to people who may not be into AI technologies.”
“It’s a very powerful tool,” Allen added. “I don’t think it’s perfect. I think that obviously there are some errors but… it’ll get you 70 to 80 percent of the way.”
