Foley & Lardner LLP recently represented Wisecut, an AI-powered automatic video editing platform, in their investment round from Silicon Valley investor Tim Draper.
Wisecut allows users to easily turn long-form talking videos into short, impactful clips with music, subtitles, and auto reframe. These short clips are perfect for platforms like YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Social Ads. Wisecut uses AI and Facial Recognition to “punch in” and “punch out” automatically, ensuring that cuts or jump cuts have a more organic flow while using one camera.
With this latest funding, Wisecut plans to expand its platform by implementing generative AI to “summarize” audiovisual content autonomously. The company said it will incorporate OpenAI’s GPT-4 technology to create thematic snippets from lengthy videos.
The Foley team was led by partner André Thiollier and included associate Talita Duarte.
