Foley & Lardner LLP represented Ume, the fintech reshaping credit in Brazil, in their $21 million in Series B funding round led by Valor Capital Group and Bewater. Additional investors included PayPal Ventures, NFX, Globo Ventures, Canary, and BigBets.
Ume’s PIX enabled Payment Network is an all-in-one platform that empowers merchants to own and scale credit businesses, giving them access to new profits pools, supporting multi-credit offerings, and integrating loyalty and marketing solutions. Built on Brazil’s PIX infrastructure, the platform transforms credit into a growth lever for businesses without the complexity of traditional financial systems.
The funding will be used to expand Ume’s Payment Network, strengthening the company’s technology, AI infrastructure, and commercial capabilities.
The Foley team was led by partner André Thiollier and included associates Trevor Mullin and Sarina Rogers.
