Foley & Lardner LLP recently represented Mirantis, a company providing a public cloud experience on any infrastructure from the data center to the edge, in their acquisition of Shipa, the Santa Clara, California-based application management framework for cloud native platforms. The acquisition allows Mirantis to add automated application discovery, operations, security, and observability to their Lens Kubernetes Platform.

Lens helps eliminate Kubernetes complexity – accelerating mainstream developer adoption – and empowers users to easily manage, develop, debug, monitor, and troubleshoot their workloads across multiple clusters in real-time, supporting any certified Kubernetes distribution, on any infrastructure. Shipa’s technology brings application intelligence and awareness to Lens, making it easy and simple for Kubernetes app owners to run, optimize, secure, and support their apps anywhere.

Shipa co-founders Bruno Andrade and vice president of engineering Vivek Pandey will join Mirantis along with the rest of the Shipa team.

The Foley team was co-led by Partners Louis Lehot and Eric Chow and included Partners Krista Cabrera, Raj Tanden, Casey Knapp, and Michael Overly, Senior Counsel Kevin Jackson, Of Counsel Marina Choundas, and Associates Eric Lauria Banta, Ashley Lee, and Tiffany Young.
