Foley & Lardner LLP recently represented Brazilian fintech Cumbuca in their seed investment round. The round was led by the venture capital fund Lightspeed Venture Partners.
Founded in 2021, Cumbuca works with the concept of “finshare,” allowing users to divide and share expenses with just a few clicks. Users can create multiple groups for various purposes, whether with family, friends, spouses, or even service providers. The Cumbuca app allows sharing of balances and expenses with full transparency and visibility for all parties involved, supporting any payment by Pix and Boleto.
Cumbuca plans to use the funding toward further development, as well as the launch of a proprietary card.
The Foley team was led by partner André Thiollier and included associate Ethan Floyd.
