Foley Represents Altis Movement Technologies in Sale of Groundbreaking Human Motion Capture Assets

Foley & Lardner LLP represented Altis Movement Technologies in the sale of their groundbreaking human motion capture assets to Academy Medtech Ventures. Altis is a human kinematics AI and computer vision company responsible for the first Movement Operating System, Movement OS.

Movement OS integrates an unparalleled “4D” computer vision human pose estimation model validated by the University of Miami’s Biomechanics Lab, with a ChatGPT-like AI that creates hyper-personalized exercise regimens and dynamically modifies/optimizes them in real time based on a user’s live performance. Altis first commercialized its technology as an “AI Personal Trainer,” which delivered its technology through novel UI/UX, including the groundbreaking Altis Vision, which shows users their body on-screen while exercising in real time, and from an optimal perspective, via an avatar — along with graphical targets that instruct the user to execute an exercise properly.

This acquisition allows Academy Medtech Ventures (AMV), a leading innovator in neurocognitive training and developers of the Operating System of Cognition, to optimize its offerings by incorporating sophisticated decision-making algorithms and advanced computer vision technology, expanding the clinical toolbox of healthcare practitioners.

The Foley team representing Altis in its initial formation and across multiple financings and legal matters was led by partners Eric Chow, Louis Lehot, and Rishi Sodhi and included senior counsel Marina Choundas and associates Talita Duarte and Wesley Choi.

Foley’s Venture & Growth Capital attorneys understand the complex and diverse needs of both venture funds and their portfolio companies and offer a broad range of services at each stage of development, delivering business solutions to the unique needs of high-growth companies operating in the technology, life science, smart manufacturing, and clean energy sectors.

Foley has one of the most active M&A practices in the country, representing U.S. and international public and private companies, investment banks, private equity and venture capital funds, special board committees, and lenders in nearly every form of M&A transaction — from small, product-line acquisitions to complex, multibillion-dollar mergers, Foley attorneys provide sophisticated legal advice on the issues most important to public and private companies.
