Foley Advises HonorHealth in Acquisition of Evernorth Care Group

Foley & Lardner LLP served as legal advisor to HonorHealth, a leading Arizona nonprofit health care system, in its acquisition of Evernorth Care Group from The Cigna Group.

On January 1, 2026, Evernorth’s physician and advance practice professional teams became part of the integrated HonorHealth system, benefiting the nearly 80,000 patients Evernorth serves each year across its greater Phoenix-Scottsdale metropolitan area clinics through coordinated and high-quality care at additional locations and an expanded clinical knowledge base.

HonorHealth is one of Arizona’s largest nonprofit health care systems, serving a population of five million across the greater Phoenix metropolitan area and Florence, Arizona. With nine acute-care hospitals, an expansive medical group offering primary, specialty and urgent care, a comprehensive cancer care network, outpatient surgery centers, clinical research, medical education and community services, HonorHealth helps patients protect and preserve their health through a unique combination of collaborative care and approachable expertise.

The Foley health care transactions team was led by partner Roger Strode and associate Michael Watkins with support from partner Benjamin Dryden.
