I am primarily focused on M&A for venture-backed emerging growth companies (both buy and sell-side), with some venture financing/general corporate counseling work. I’m also fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese (currently working on Portuguese) and I like to work on cross border deals to bridge the gap between different cultures. I advise clients at all stages of the corporate lifecycle, which we often describe as “garage to global”.
There are a number of reasons why I enjoy working with emerging companies. With flatter hierarchies, we get to advise senior management in emerging growth companies on issues that could have a substantial impact on the operation or strategy of the clients. Also, we view ourselves as a strategic partner of our clients, helping them every step of the way. One example might be connecting them to banker contacts for opening a bank account. I am passionate about being a trusted partner of our clients. I make clients happy by breaking down complex legal issues into digestible issues, managing transactions smoothly and achieving favorable outcomes.
When people ask about Foley, I tell them that first and foremost, I enjoy working with the people. Since I have been with the firm, I have worked with a lot of top-notch attorneys across disciplines who are smart, personable and great at building relationship with clients. Also, everyone at Foley has been super welcoming. I believe the Foley platform is perfectly suited to service clients in the emerging growth field.
When I’m not at the office, I am likely traveling. You might find me on a beach in Mexico, drinking coffee in a roadside café in Paris or eating ramen in Tokyo.
