Foley & Lardner LLP partner Louis Lehot assessed dealmaking trends in the Law360 article, “PE Dealmakers Best-Suited To Cut Through M&A Challenges.”
Highlighting that the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice have yet to signal a major policy shifts in antitrust enforcement and a meek IPO environment, Lehot said though a few large deals have been announced this year, many have yet to close and venture capital-backed startups are not especially active in exit markets.
“Largely, it’s been a tough first half of the year,” Lehot noted. “But there are reasons to be optimistic about the second,” he continued, pointing to rising momentum in select corners of the market.
“I’ve actually had a really busy month,” he added. “Activity looks really good through the end of July.”
