Should my company go public or stay private?

Silicon Valley has long debated the merits of staying private for longer. The debate continues under current market conditions, as unicorns are raising substantial capital in private markets (shout out to OpenAI, who raised $6.6 billion in Q3 2024). Some companies are disregarding their IPO window, even where there would be healthy public investor demand due to their ability to generate liquidity for early investors and employees and increase their valuation while avoiding the hassles of public company disclosures and increased costs.
