What is the average cost of going public?

According to a PricewaterhouseCoopers study, between January 2015 and December 2022, the average going public costs of a company that had annual gross revenue of $250M to $500M in the previous 12 months and generated IPO proceeds between $250M to $500M across all industries is between $17M and $31M.

The breakdown of each individual offering cost and the average price range is set forth below.

  • Underwriting fees: $14.63M to $33.81M
  • Legal fees: $1.2M to $6.3M
  • Accounting fees: $450K to $5.22M
  • Printing fees: $125K to $1.2M
  • SEC registration: $12.7K to $75.2K
  • FINRA: $15.1K to $91.1K
  • Exchange listing: $25K to $345K
  • Miscellaneous: $10.3K to $8.2M
