I am a patent attorney who helps technology companies and academic institutions protect their inventions and develop a patent portfolio that supports their efforts in securing capital and obtaining and maintaining a competitive edge in the marketplace.
I have a cross-disciplinary practice that spans software and computing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, bioinformatics, medical devices and implants, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, fintech and business methods, augmented reality, cybersecurity, electromechanical devices, imaging, chemical and materials processing, and “green” technologies, among others.
Emerging growth companies, by virtue of their position, often have a “the sky is the limit” mentality, and such optimism about their potential makes working with them particularly fun. I work with companies of varying size, from startups to Fortune 50 companies, as well as many academic institutions and their spinoffs.
I practice at Foley because of the people, and the breadth and depth of the expertise at the firm. I am passionate about advancing science and technology, and working with emerging growth companies helps me be a part of such efforts.
When I am not in the office, I spend time with my kids tinkering and doing science experiments.
